Merman

He who basks within the deep
Hiding from his lover who tenderly weeps.
Her heart shredding, tears drop upon the lake
They drift silently beneath seeking your face.

Your eyes pierce the abyss
Yearning for her gentle lips, longing your beloved's kiss
How can I ever call to her when I am no normal man?
How can we be together if I am the sea and she is the land?

The disgrace of a myth sulks in his despair, dreading his ancient song he swims hoping to disappear.
The waters speak sending ripples to the bank
Serenading his love...
The song of a lonely Merman.
