Last Moments

As he lays in a state of frailty
Our eyes perceive disease; cherishing the last moments he greets visitors
Strength.

They came together. Tears. Prayers
Begging for him to stay
He laid. He listened. He dreamed.

Decaying
Death was his cloud but not his pillow

They break one after another. Hearts as glass
Tears flooding the steps. Upon the altar. Cries in unity
Who knew you had so much power?

Sickness. The present haze. Speechless
Sorrow clenches their throats. Enemies now friends. Together we grieve you

Last droplets. Dew. Cast reflection upon our hearts
Warmth encompassed by the chill
In his last hours he was more
More man. More heart. More spirit. More. Love

He made us love his smile. Aura of peace. Our friendly Casanova
That look. Fighting spirit
Face midnight with courage
Branded. The portrait of those eyes
Sparkle. Love

The lilies bathe your body now. Scented with oil. Anointed soul ascend
You've earned your place by the father
Happiness. Eternally
