Ripples

Her flesh held ripples
Dawn on the tide
Sunlight kissing ebony
Lips dipped to her thigh

Floating on the waves
Her body was still
Upturned to the night
These were her words
The whispers blanketing light

She spoke of poverty
Flesh peeling with each passing storm
Surely she would change
Surely I would see

The sea watched me
As I watched she
Ripples flooding
Deep
Mirroring

I weep. Seeing she
Being. Me.
Peeling
With each passing storm.
Floating on the tide...
